Let's Clean up and Blog: The Power of One

The theme for Environment Month, which centers around trash, underscores the significance of waste reduction and pollution prevention. It advocates for practices such as reducing, reusing, recycling, and organizing community clean-up events to foster a cleaner and more sustainable environment. Our environment is in the state it’s in now because of human activities and decisions. As a species, we have been polluting the air, water, and land for many years without considering the consequences. Our reliance on fossil fuels for energy, deforestation for development, and overconsumption of resources have all contributed to the degradation of our environment. Additionally, our lack of awareness and education on how our actions impact the planet have led to a mindset of apathy and neglect towards taking care of our planet. It is important for us to start making more sustainable choices and taking responsibility for our actions in order to protect and preserve our environment for future generations.

Here is some trash I saw outside and inside our house. Waste can be a health hazard as it attracts pests that transmit diseases, and decayed refuse can be capable of releasing deleterious toxins into the environment contaminating water and air.

This week, I decided to challenge myself to pick up one piece of trash every day.  It's amazing how much you notice when you start paying attention.  Even a small effort can make a big difference!

The following week, I have decided to challenge myself more to pick up trash.

A Deep Dive into Learned Lessons

First Quarter in ICT (Grade 10) Reflection:

A.  What is the learning/discoveries have I gained?

In the first quarter of Grade 10 ICT, I was introduced to several Internet timelines, Weblogs, steps how to create your blog account and etc.

B. What are the problems/challenges have I encountered?

One of the weaknesses that I faced would be the comprehension of several lessons, such as how to create an account. Besides, I had some discrepancies with time management since there were several projects that needed strict attention and multitasking.

C. How did I resolve those challenges?

In dealing with such challenges, I resolved to reach out to my teacher or fellow students for help every time that I found myself stuck somewhere. I also turned to the web and other tutorials for the clarification of certain aspects that proved challenging for me. In addition, I enhanced my time management by drafting a study timetable that allowed me to dedicate time for every project and assignment.

I will aim to improve and emulate what I can, with no doubts in my abilities in ICT and I will seek for more missions geared towards further improving my ICT skills. I will ensure that I attempt to ask fewer questions and attempt to resolve the issue on my own first before asking for assistance in order to foster my problem-solving skills.

National Teachers Month Celebration 2024: A Time to Celebrate the Heart of Education

This National Teachers Month, as we celebrate under the theme “Together4Teachers,” let’s take a moment to honor the profound impact teachers have on our nation’s future. They are the architects of our society, shaping minds, igniting passions, and nurturing dreams. Their dedication, unwavering commitment, and tireless efforts deserve our deepest gratitude. Teachers are more than just educators; they are mentors, guides, and confidantes. They navigate the complexities of learning with patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to see their students succeed.  Their influence extends far beyond academic knowledge, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love of learning.
This month, let us reflect on the countless ways teachers contribute to our nation’s growth. They inspire innovation, foster creativity, and equip future generations with the tools to navigate an ever-evolving world. Their dedication to shaping young minds is the foundation upon which our society thrives. As we celebrate “Together4Teachers,” let us express our appreciation for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment. Let us acknowledge their invaluable contributions and support their ongoing endeavors. Let us work together to ensure that teachers have the resources, recognition, and support they need to continue their vital work. This month, let us not only celebrate our teachers but also reaffirm our commitment to supporting them in every way possible. For it is through their dedication and passion that we can build a brighter future for all.

National Teachers Month Celebration Poem

In classrooms bright, where dreams take flight,
With every word, you spark our light.
You guide us gently, with patience and care,
In every lesson, your love we share.

From math to stories, you open the door,
Unlocking potential, helping us soar.
With chalk and markers, you paint our dreams,
In a world full of wonder, or so it seems.

Each question answered, each challenge faced,
You teach us resilience, with hope interlaced.
With laughter and wisdom, you pave the way,
For a brighter tomorrow, day by day.

So, here’s to the teachers, our guiding stars,
With hearts so big, no matter how far.
This month we honor your tireless fight,
For shaping our futures and making them bright.

Let’s celebrate you with joy and cheer,
For the heart of education, we hold so dear.
In gratitude, we lift our voices high,
To the teachers we cherish, our dreams will fly!

A Nation on the Edge: Building Resilience in the Philippines

A Nation on the Edge: Building Resilience in the Philippines

The Philippines, a vibrant archipelago nestled in the heart of the Pacific, faces a constant dance with nature's fury.  From the relentless typhoons that sweep across its shores to the tremors that shake its very foundations, the nation has long grappled with the challenges of natural disasters.  But in recent years, a new urgency has emerged, fueled by the escalating impacts of climate change.  The question now is not just how to survive these events, but how to build a Philippines that can thrive despite them – a nation resilient in the face of adversity.

The Philippines' vulnerability is a complex tapestry woven from geographic realities, societal challenges, and the looming shadow of climate change.  The archipelago's position in the typhoon belt and the "Ring of Fire" makes it a prime target for nature's wrath.  The sheer frequency of storms, coupled with the potential for devastating earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, creates a constant state of preparedness.  But the story doesn't end there.  Poverty and inequality, deeply embedded in the fabric of Philippine society, exacerbate the impacts of disasters.  Those living in marginalized communities often lack access to basic resources, making them more susceptible to the devastating consequences of natural events.

But the path to resilience is not without its obstacles.  The financial resources needed to implement comprehensive resilience measures are substantial, requiring significant investment from both the government and private sector.  Addressing the deep-rooted issues of poverty and inequality is crucial, but requires long-term, multifaceted strategies that go beyond immediate disaster response.  Improving coordination and collaboration between different levels of government, as well as between government agencies and communities, is essential for effective disaster management.  The Philippines must also continuously adapt to the evolving impacts of climate change, requiring ongoing research, innovation, and flexible policy responses.  And perhaps most importantly, fostering a culture of resilience requires raising public awareness about disaster risks and promoting preparedness through education, empowering communities to take ownership of their safety.

Inside's Rhian's World

Hi babies, let me introduce myself first before we talk more about myself. My name is Rhian Mae Frial, and you can call me Rhi or Maeh, whatever you like to call me, babies. I want to let you all know that I'm excited to share every detail about me. First things first, I am currently 15 years old, and I was given birth on March 3, 2009. It was located at Don Lorenzo, Caoayan. I was given birth in a house instead of a hospital. I am ate of my two siblings, which are a boy and a girl. My life is just normal. I've been living near a farm since birth, which is in the Sitio Luzong East, Caoayan. I am fun to talk to, and I'm really loud if we get close to each other more. I've found happiness when I'm with my friends and while watching K-pop. My favorite color would be green because it's not just my favorite color because it's pretty; it's my favorite color because God created it to symbolize nature, fertility, fruitfulness, and His love for humanity. I'm bonding to relieve my stress on my pet dog, which is his name, Wafu.

Introduction is over babies; may I bring the improving station now? This is how I will improve myself by improving my attitudes. Then starting to set my goals and breaking them down into manageable steps. I won't be afraid to ask for any help when I need it, and I will seek out supportive friends and teachers who can offer me guidance. I will challenge myself to step outside of my comfort zone by participating in class discussions, joining any clubs or contests, and doing my best. I will help me stay on track and focused. I may also utilize techniques taken from other learning styles to enhance my ability to learn effectively like spatial, auditory or kinesthetic. Moreover, I can also take part in educational programs like workshops to sharpen my performance as a learner. As a daughter, the most important thing that I can do is to be there for my family through thick and thin. During weekends I help out with house chores while all through the week I prepare dinner for us unless we are having takeaways. This lets them know that even during hard times there is someone who cares about them.

Last but not least, babies, let's get into the exciting part by planning for our future someday. In my future, I plan to gain more knowledge and confidence. I want to improve myself. As the years pass, I want to be a professional nurse. Before any love story begins in my life, I want to have my parents first to have their comfortable life and much better house. Then I can continue my plans and dreams. But I'm hoping that the future ahead of me is good.
